Currently & Cinco de Mayo

It's May!!!  I love May.  Even though here in the south it is only 57 degrees and I needed my jacket at busy duty today.  What is up with that?!  I was sunning myself a few weeks ago and now I'm thinking of turning on the heat!  *sigh*  I suppose that's how spring goes.  That's what I tell the kids anyway...

I'm linking up with Farley for Currently & then I'm give away my Cinco de Mayo unit to one lucky follower!!

Listening: Yes, I may still be working but if Friends is on, I feel like I'm relaxing.  I've seen this show {every episode} so many times that I hardly need to watch it to know what's going on...or what line is coming up next...or what they're wearing.  I {heart} Friends and I may be the only one who isn't excited about the reunion rumors going around.  The last season was SO good and I still cry when Rachel says "I got off the plane" and when they all lay their keys on the counter!!!  I'm just afraid that a reunion should would ruin it.  There, said it!

Loving:  I'm now halfway through my pregnancy and am thrilled beyond belief to know that it's a girl.  Currently in the process of planning her nursery and getting ready for a shower at work.  Pink & ruffles, here we come!  :)

Thinking:  I've slowly started putting together my Maternity Tub.  I'm hoping to have it done by the end of the year so a) I don't have to work on it over the summer and b) it'll be all set and ready in case I don't make it back in the fall.  {She's due to arrive after only 2 weeks back to school!}  I'm trying to make it specific without being overwhelming and leave flexibility without leaving it incomplete.  Oh it's so hard to relinquish control of my classroom...

Wanting:  Nutella Pie.  I went to dinner with a dear, sweet friend last night and we split Nutella Pie for dessert.  Graham cracker crust.  Peanut butter.  Chocolate fudge drizzle.  Carmel sauce.  So so good.  Where's the Pinterest recipe for that?!

Needing: Time for just me.  I know, I know, once I'm a mom I'll never have it again, right?  Between needing to relax and all of the end of year madness, I just need some time for me.  Plus we've had family living with us for a month and sharing your space with anyone just disrupts your routine, you know??

Summer Bucket List:  Being that this is the first summer in the history of my teaching that I'm not planning to work, getting this holo pregnancy float is on the top of my list!!!  There's a hole in the middle so you can lay on your belly!!!  Amazing.  And apparently you can use it out of the water, too, for reading, watching TV, etc.  Look how relaxed she is...and now it comes in pink!  So, even though I don't think that model is actually pregnant {or I'm just super jealous that it hasn't yet spread to her sides, thighs or behind}, I am going to take my most recent TpT check and buy that thing without thinking twice about the price!
I am also to the point where I can't wear my regular pants {even with the hairtie trick or my bella band} because it's just uncomfortable to sit down.  But I'm too cheap to shell out money for professional, work maternity pants for only 25 more days of school!!  So the rest of that TpT check will be going to tunic shopping.  I am getting ready to live in leggings...until I can live on that raft!  ;)

Ok!  Now some fun for you...  :)  One of my Facebook fans will be the recipient of my new Cinco de Mayo unit...perfect timing.  {and explains why my hands smell like cilantro}  Just "like" my Facebook page and leave a comment on the Cinco de Mayo post to guess what I'm looking forward to the most about teaching Cinco de Mayo this year.  Hint: it hasn't been guessed yet & people who have read my blog posts this year will have a better idea!  ;)

I DO think you will like Stitch Fix....after seeing your blog! It does seem right up your alley! You also mentioned Birch Box in your post on my blog. I have also tried that and was disappointed- it's $10 for samples....Love your Blog!

  6. I am 17 weeks pregnant and have a serious bump already. Although most people say it is tiny. I feel like it is huge! My mom and I went maternity clothes shopping two weeks ago and we had a VERY difficult time finding stuff. Luckily, we found a few items at Macy's and let me tell you those pants are HEAVEN! I don't care if they aren't fashionable. I can breathe! It was the best relief ever.
I'm sorry that I never got to say Congrats to you sooner. I actually stayed awake long enough to read your announcement post on my phone and the stupid thing would NOT let me comment on your blog. It was very annoying. So, Congratulations on your sweet baby girl!

I came thisclose to pretending my little boy was a girl just for 1 day so I could play dress ups hahaha. Enjoy your break! And I vote yes for the pool float, wish I'd known about it when I was preggo!

  8. I just found your blog through the currently linky! I am so glad that I did! I was hunting for new Kinder blogs to follow since I am going back to K next year! Maternity leave...blessing and overwhelming at the same time! One teacher told me, "Many kids have had subs while their teachers had babies and they turned out just fine. You just have to let it go." I always worry and I just keep thinking, "I just can't do that to my 20 kiddos at school...." but I know my time will come and I will! It will all be okay! YAY for you for working ahead!!

  9. Congratulations on your baby girl! I am also a kinder teacher & am due with my second child (a boy - first is a girl) at the beginning of the school year - my due date is actually the first day of school next fall! I have just started trying to pull my maternity sub stuff together and would love for you to share what you are putting in your sub tub. My last maternity leave was at the end of the year, so it was not nearly as nerve racking as I feel this leave will be. I'm also the only returning kinder teacher to our team but will not be here to help & support the new teammates, which in turn leaves no support for my sub...I'm going kind of crazy right now thinking about it, but am sure that once my baby boy is here it will be the last thing on my mind. I want to be as prepared as possible so would love any suggestions or feedback on how you are planning & what you are including!!
    Thanks for your amazing blog!!
