Friday Fashion Find {shoe-la-la}

Will you look...at....this!  I have a new favorite book!
This book appeared in my mailbox yesterday afternoon with a note inside from our media teacher.  Just because she knows me and that it's my thang to teach in heels.  When I went to thank her for getting it she said "You can think of us next year when you read it.  We'll miss you!" to which I responded only appropriately...waaaaah!!!

I am such a crier.  And gearing up for this transition {while and good one and one I am not regretting!} is already taking a toll.  Do you know how ridiculous it is to pack a classroom you've practically lived in for 6 years?  {plus a previous 2 years' worth of stuff.}  I will never complain about moving houses again because at least you know that everything in there is yours and you don't have to try and sort through what goes and what stays!

After a 12 hour day I'm just pooped.  But if anything will lift my spirits it's this sassy story.  The four friends go shoe shopping and try on every shoe they can find {even a pari that matches her underwear!} but to their own demise {and that of the poor shop keeper} they can't find anything they like.  What's a girl to do?!

Make your own fancy shoes!  {obvi}

I love love love the story and will cherish it as a gift from my first teaching home.  Your girls will love it and if you give your kids a shoe decorating challenge I have a feeling the boys won't mind it either.  {hmmm...I feel a project coming on!}

Ok, and while you're shopping, pick up some spray paint for your own DIY neon toe party!!
Happy Friday friends.  Soak it in!
P.S. This just in!  Express is having a buy one, get one half off sale on the ENTIRE store this weekend!
Go to their Facebook page and click the link to get an email sent to you with the coupon.  Offer is good online or in store.  Looks like it's time for a shopping trip!  ;)

Friday Fashion Find.

I'm love love loving this one.  And while I've yet to try it, I do have Spring Break coming up soon.  So in the words of Barney Stinson...wait for it...

glitter shoes.

Whether you're going for pumps or flats, this style is in!  And so super fun.  You can wear jeans and a t-shirt and be ready to go out {to dinner, to a party, to the park, whatever} just by throwing on some sparkle and shine.

This first tutorial gave me a heart attack because she glittered up her Loubs.  {Lord help me if I ever feel like I have enough money to justify spending so much on some Louboutins, I will certainly not be making any adjustments!!}
If you're not so ready to rock the stilts, you can do just the same with your worn out ballet flats.
Speaking of Loubs, if you're envious of that statement sole...glitter it up instead!  {Just use red glitz!}
Or if your shoes look like mine {tattered and torn...worn in...loved} cover up the peeling material by ripping it off and covering what's left!
Wedge wearers, I didn't forget about you.  Follow any of the steps to add some sparkly height!
The best part is, you already have the secret ingredient in your home-at-school supply stash...
{modge podge!}

Actually, maybe I can't wait for Spring Break!  Happy creating.  Send a picture if you try it out.  From your classroom of course!  ;)

Friday Fashion Finds.

I've thought multiple times about how I'm neglecting the glamour aspect of my title.  I mean, not in real life - don't get crazy - but with all of you.  So I've decided to start a new weekly post sesh...Friday Fashion Finds!  I realize it's Saturday and am already breaking my own rules but if you want my input you won't really care if it's Flag Day!  {am I right?}

This week's find: bold jeans.
I bought some cobalt blue legging jeans from Gap and am loving them.  They're super comfortable and I love that the colors are bright and bold but without going neon.
Reader Beware: When Gap says skinny they mean s-k-i-n-n-y.  I'm usually between 2 sizes when I buy pants {aren't we all} so I naturally grabbed for my "realistic" size instead of my "when I'm working out like a maniac" size...and STILL had to go one. I could've probably gone with my regular size but I prefer my skinny jeans to still resemble pants instead of being so tight they look like paint.

Bonus: Order today {3.17} and use code GAPGREEN for 20% off!

Don't be afraid of the color.  It's so so fun.  Plus, your friends at InStyle are always there to help you.  :)  Next on my list....yellow!  What color are you brave enough to try??

Shoes to teach in.

This is Little Miss Glamour so I think it's definitely appropriate to share some good shopping finds with my blogging buddies, yes?  Since I know I'm in the minority when it comes to chasing after five year olds in heels, I think these are a fab starter shoe for you non-believers.

Old Navy has them in tons of colors and prints.  I currently have them in the blue/white stripe and solid black.  The best part is....they should should meet all of your dress code needs!  {No, that's not technically a "strap" in the back but they've passed with flying colors for me.}  Order online now and you get free shipping on all purchases of $50.  Happy Spring Dressing!
