What about a picture search for whatever the unit is? The kids could maybe illustrate or cut and paste pictures of the words from the unit.

Anything that combines literacy and math activities...I also love hands-on Daily 5 activities :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not currently teaching in a classroom right now, but my favourite with the kindie kids were running games (work for any Elementary, but kindies were always the most fun for me), relays for classroom numbers larger than 6 kids. Recognition games where they run to the word/item that I say, matching games where I give each student a card and they have to find the "match" among the cards on the floor at the other end of the classroom, output games where they run to the black/white board and write the answer.
ReplyDeleteOhhh I need this. I start my fairy tale unit next week. Pick me now that I'm a follower.

ReplyDeleteP.S. I am also one of the few Kinder teachers that teach in heels! :)
You could make a graphing activity or an Alphabet/sight word activity. My students LOVE when I let them do these in stations!
ReplyDeleteWHEW! I found it! You are not going to believe this... I am colorblind and I can't read the words on your blog! My husband has to read it for me and he is getting REAL sick of keeping me updated!!! HA!
